Chicken Gyro
Ingredients
- Chicken Thighs (one per pita)
- Pita bread
- Toppings
- greek yogurt
- mayo
- hummus
- lettuce
- cucumber
Process
- Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, garlic powder and turmeric.
- Once the pan is hot, add a layer of oil and the chicken. Leave it for a few minutes to get crispy.
- While the chicken is cooking, cut up the vegetables. Slice the lettuce into thin slices
- Mix the mayo with garlic powder and paprika
- Once the chicken is done, toss the lettuce in the pan to soak up some of the extra chicken grease and keep the lettuce from tasting dry.
- Pull out the lettuce and heat up the pita on the pan (it is important to warm the pita)
- Add the hummus and garlic mayo to the pita, then add the chicken. Top with some yogurt, and add the vegetables.
- (Optional) wrap the whole thing in foil to reduce the mess when you eat it, and to keep it tightly packed.
